Fine in Fine jacket. First edition. Tiny crease on the corner of the titlepage else fine in fine dustwrapper. Inscribed by Bagnold on the half-title (with a couple of letters mistakenly continued onto the titlepage) to Tony Award-winning actress Marian Seldes: "For Marian Seldes (with my dear dear love) fullest[? ] really from Tony Harvey-Love, Enid. 1975. Rottingdean." Rottingdean is a Sussex village within the City of Brighton and Hove. Seldes appeared in the original production of Bagnold's most famous play *The Chalk Garden*. Film director Anthony Harvey and Seldes were friends, but why he appears in this inscription isn't immediately known by us.
