This is a new book written specifically for the closed-book EIT/FE exam. Ten professors have combined their efforts so that each chapter is written by an expert in his field. These include textbook authors Lawrence H. Van Vlack ( Elements of Materials Science and Engineering ), Charles Smith ( Statics, Dynamics, More Dynamics ) and Donald Newnan ( Engineering Economic Analysis ). The introduction describes the exam, its structure, exam-day strategies, exam scoring, and passing rate statistics. The exam topics covered in subsequent chapters are Mathematics, Statics, Dynamics, Mechanics of Materials, Fluid Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Electric Circuits, Materials Engineering, Chemistry, Computers, Ethics and Engineering Economy. The topics carefully match the structure of the closed-book exam and the notation of the Fundamentals of Engineering Reference Handbook . Each topic is presented along with example problems to illustrate the technical presentation. Multiple-choice practice problems with detailed solutions are at the end of each chapter. The book includes a complete eight-hour EIT/FE Sample Exam, with 120 multiple-choice morning problems and 60 multiple-choice general afternoon problems. Following the sample exam, complete step-by-step solutions are given for each of the 180 problems.
