The title of the book reveals the thrust of the contents. The emphasis is on teaching drafting practices and basic engineering drawings, with a tie-in to using AutoCAD to implement them. Good for a beginner, but if you are experienced, looking for a book that shows advanced methods of using AutoCAD 2013, this is probably not the book for you. I was looking for the latter, and did not perform my due diligence before purchasing the book. It still may be a good refresher on things that I do not often use, such as various gear designs. The portion covering3-D drawing, which comprises most of my current efforts, is extremely basic. It may be helpful to a rank beginner, but is well below the level of sophistication of the earlier topics of the book.
