I loved this book because it tells the story from a more personal angle. The writing seems so fresh: you feel like you are right there with the expedition members, sharing in the sufferings and the joys. IIn my opinion it is by far the best book written on the subject.

Powerful & gripping; survival against the odds
This is one of the most amazing true stories ever told, and rates highly within the group of books written about the Endurance expedition. Worsley's style differs from Shakleton's, and this book focuses more on the environment and physical journey and less on the individual characters involved.
That men could survive such an ordeal is mind blowing to us pampered, coddled people of today who find it hard to deal with minor setbacks in life. The story is inspiring and I can't recommend it highly enough.
