The authors bring to bear their years of experience of reporting on the conflict to relate this account of secret meetings and clandestine negotiations, as all parties struggled to overcome centuries of distrust. This text is not only a portrayal of people and events, but also makes an important contribution to our understanding of Irish histoy.
