This is one of the most fascinating books I have ever owned. I'm a bit of an old fashion girl, I love to study old needlework books ( and collect them ) The encyclopedia of needlework is a small time capsule, taking you beyond your grandmothers' time. A time when women had no washing machines, cloth diapers and few of the modern conveniences we have today. But somehow still found the time to make beautiful, intricate needlework, their own lace and darned their husbands' socks. I think few of us will actually master all the different technics explained in this book. But it still is a very good reference. Maybe some of us will learn a few new stitches, or just simply enjoy taking a look into the handywork of women of yore !
