Steel (1886a, p. 171) refers to the kidneys as "congested or edematous." Lingard (1893, p. 84). in referring to the kidneys, says: "The kidneys, right--congested. "The kidneys, right--petechia;. The, irgans generally present a pale appearance, but rains. (See p. 128.) URINARY SYSTEM. not nnfrequently one or ln, th are the seat of numerous petechue, in some instances so small as to be only the size of a pin's head, but may be much more extensive. They are scattered over the external cortical surface of the organs, and on section are found to dip into and invade the tissues below. The stellate veins are frequenfly injected, and occasionally the surface of the organ is the seat of congested patches." The Veterinary Journal. London (lN!ti, p. 181), records that the kidneys are often pale. flubby, and colored with petechia., and according to George H. Evans (1N99. p. 38) they are frequently affected; at times anemic and edematous, at others slightly or markedly congested. In some eases he has observed considerable blood extravasation on and in the under parts of these organs. Bladder.--There is little to note about the bladder. In some cases a patch of extravasation may be observed at the fundus or small petechial spots scattered over the mucous membrane. MUSCLES.. The muscles of the back, especially in long-continued cases, arc found to have undergone considerable atrophy.
