I not only recommend Tracie Peterson's books, but I share my copies with my friends who love her books, too.

Embers of Love
The first in the Strike a Match Series full of background on logging in East Texas that I found interesting. The story is woven with the introduction of the characters and you are set for a good read. It was hard to set down.

Education and Literacy
The first in a new series, Tracie Peterson does not disappoint. She tells interesting stories set in turbulent times. The women's suffrage movement is gaining momentum, and one young girl, Lizzy, is forced into marriage so that her mother's plans to get women the vote will be expedited. She flees to Texas with a school mate, only to be pursued by her mother and almost-husband. Her friend from college, Deborah is interested in learning from the local doctor, and Lizzy falls for Deborah's brother. It is also about the logging industry and the concerns to replenish the resource for future generations, rather than just clear cut, and leave. It was a good read.
