Seller's Description:
Fine in Fine jacket. Book. 9 1/2 h x 6 1/4w. A real nice clean ubnmarked 433 page first edition (stated) hardcover with 1 low in number line and a reral nice clean dust jacket. Page count includes 28 pages of photos not numbered. A collection of personal stories by Elvis' relatives, friends, colleagues, and associates recounts his school years, first recordings, early performances, romantic encounters, appearance on Ed Sullivan, army life, and grief over his mother's death.
This book follows Elvis through the years as observed by people who knew him. It is very well organized and put together, never boring. Great stories for you to enjoy. All those who were interviewed obviously loved Elvis, but in their very individual ways. The author did not attempt to manipulate the reader and you will find yourself sometimes in agreement, sometimes in astonishment and sometimes upset. You will also get to know the man behind the legend a little bit better. He was a very unique human being. From his wonderful sense of humor and caring ways to his painful end - through this book you can imagine what if would have been like to enjoy his company. I have read quite a few books about Elvis. In my opinion this is one of the best.
