MaryLu Tyndall can definitely tell a captivating story and Elusive Hope is another wonderful edition to her collection. The story follows Magnolia Scott, the spoiled, self absorbed debutante who caused some trouble in Forsaken Dreams. She's determined to return to the United States and to a man she is sure is waiting to marry her. She hates Brazil, the people she has traveled with, but most definitely she hates herself. She has hurts in her past that do account for some of her atrocious behavior. When Hayden Gale decides to leave the camp and go in search of the reason he is in Brazil, Magnolia decides to go with him, but Hayden's stubbornness is something that Magnolia never expected. She has definitely met her match in cunning and manipulation. When the two spar with words sparks definitely fly to match those of the fires that must burn to keep the jungle insects away.
I love how the story shifts between the characters because you get to see so much more of what is happening. To be honest I wasn't sure about the supernatural tie-in in Forsaken Dreams, it was just plain creepy, but it really worked in Elusive Hope. The temple and the hideous things unearthed and unleashed add spice to the story. This series has been compared to Lost and in this book you can totally understand why.
I recommend this book to everyone because it's refreshing to read a Christian fiction story that hasn't been done a hundred times before. The supernatural element was very intriguing, and MaryLu Tyndall will always be an amazing author.

Elusive Hope-book 2 in series - Excellent!
?Elusive Hope? is MaryLu Tyndall?s second book in the series; the first book being ?Forsaken Dreams?. While it is not necessary to read the first book prior to the second, it is helpful. You will be more familiar with all the characters and have a better understanding as to why they act like they do. And, of course, the first book is just as good as the second.
The heroine in ?Elusive Hope? is selfish, spoiled southern bell, Magnolia Scott. I have to admit that she played her part well. As I read the book I enjoyed seeing her eyes opened to what true beauty really is. The hero, Hayden Gale is a con man seeking revenge on his father, but ultimately learning what forgiveness really means. MaryLu?s books are never trite and silly. There is always something to learn from her books. And this book is no exception. Elusive Hope is full of adventure and romance! Just what I love! And don?t stop at reading ?Elusive Hope?. Check out all of MaryLu?s books. You won?t be disappointed!
