This novel takes place in the Mythical land of Elkiron. The setting is redolent of Bronze Age Britain, but not exclusively so. The main character, Degan, the fifth of six sons, finds himself propelled into his destiny through the prophecy given to him by the wandering immortal seer, Safrin. His destiny is to rescue the land from the oppressive reign of King Vraithim, and the marauding Hirsks who were making increasing incursions into the land bringing death and destruction wherever they went.
