The method of teaching the subject in hand adopted by the author, and in accordance with which this book was prepared, embraces the lecture, quiz and case systems in the endeavor to utilize the manifest advantages of each. The superiority of a sys tematic course of lectures over occasional and unconnected explanations must be apparent. Nothing else can properly perform the functions of quizzes and tests, both oral and written. The study of illustrative cases impresses the stu dent with the application of principles by the courts, thus demonstrating to him their standing as matters necessary to his knowledge of the law.
