DJ Hell is certainly no stranger to eclecticism. Whether it's putting out stuff on his International Deejay Gigolos imprint or traveling around the world DJing in clubs, Hell most certainly keeps it diverse, and the double-CD mix Electronicbody-Housemusic certainly proves the case. Starting off with a tune from Detroit cult heroes Underground Resistance and heading straight into Metro Area's "Miura" is a one-two punch that few mix CDs can rival in intensity. From there he heads into a star-studded cast including N.Y.C. mad professors the Juan Maclean, Detroit prodigies Recloose, Scott Ferguson, and Perspects, and electroclash superstars Mount Sims. And that's just the first disc. The second disc delves into darker territories than the first one explored, including selections from industrial pioneers Nitzer Ebb, Front 242, and Liaisons Dangereuses as well as Chicago hard house hero Green Velvet. It's a potent mix and shows the versatility and diversity of a DJ whose influence is sorely underestimated. ~ Rob Theakston, Rovi
