Actually this is a picture book--the only Spanish is the title, which translates to "The Steadfast Tin Soldier." This is a Hans Christian Anderson tale in a modern setting.
The story goes that some discarded children's toys find their way to a new 'life' in a culture far different from the one they originated in. This happens not through magic or fairies but through recycling and globalization of resources.
The drawings are by Jorg Muller and a review I read once said he drew this book for children and their parents. I would agree there is much to explain here to children.
Beautiful drawings. Brilliant story line. I wish he would do more books like this.
