The process of upgrading the strength, regaining the lost strength and enhancing the performance of the structure locally or globally is referred to as retrofitting. Strength, stiffness and ductility of few elements or whole building can be altered by retrofitting. Ferrocement jacketing for retrofitting can be useful as it is economical, easy to apply from the view point of less skill labour requirement, lightweight and high tensile strength. In this study for shear lacking RC beams deflections of specimens are noted after stressing the specimens to ultimate load. Then retrofitting is done with ferrocement and their strength is compared to control specimens.
