Anyone interested in nature, birds, or Antarctica will enjoy this book. Edward Wilson is an inspiration for any amatuer naturalist and birder. He was a dogged observer with unflagging energy and enthusiasm for all his endeavors, even ovecoming TB when he was in his 20s to go on and reach the South Pole on the second Scott Expedition (where he unfortunately persished along with three others). His life and work are a testament to the human spirit and the reward that comes from a life of studying nature close up. Wilson's artwork was superb and this book contains numerous samples. An entertaining read.
