Reads like a thriller. The book that inspired, and I think surpasses, 1493 by Mann. I think the book was overlooked by the world when published, but now seems to be a very clear-sighted view of one of the greatest ecological changes on earth.

Best book for years
"Ecological imperialism" is the best history book I have read for years. It changed my way of thinking completely.
