September 11.--Anent Geillis Robertsone, Dr. Edward reports, that thair is no appearance of her confessioun. The bretheren having considered her former confessiouns, quhairof they wer informed by Dr. Edward and utheris, and also these quho wer appoynted to conferre with her, hauing heard her owne daughter, and a sister of her sonne in law quho was sick, and imputed her sicknes vpon pregnant presumptiones to a malefice of hers; and that scho spok nothing that tended to the clearing of her self: The bretheren, finding that these were sufficient groundis for them, vnto quhom such a dewtie belonged, to crave a commissioun for her tryall, apoynt Dr. Edward to desyre that the magistrats of the toune wold seik a commissioun for her tryall. September 15.--Anent Geillis Robertsone, Dr. Edward reports, that in respect thair wer no actuall magistrats in Craill, thair was no course takin for obtaining a commissioun for her tryall. The bretheren thoght that this was a duetie incumbent vpon the honnest men of the toune to seik a commissioun, as is the vse and custome in such caices quher ther is no magistrats; and therfore desyre Dr. Edward to putt her confessiounes in mundo, and delyver them to honnest men, who might carry them over the water, for obtaining a commissioun for her tryall.
