First, I should state I only made it 60 pages in on this book then decided to turf it. From what little I read, it appears it is a character driven story rather than a plot driven one. The synopsis lead me to believe that the story followed the life of one person after committing a crime during a protest. I found the premise interesting but it just dragged on and on in the character development that I never quite got to the pemise ( there was so much development on other characters that didn't appear to be the lead character per the back of the book) . I might also have problems with the whole "protest by damaging private property" type thing as well due to being raised by 1950s parents. Wish I could have gotten into some of the meatier parts of the book (if there were any) but frankly, it just bacame torture reading it.
