Definitely Yun Kouga
After being a huge fan of Yun Kouga's Loveless, I decided to check out Earthian. If you're a fan of Yun Kouga's other works, this is a definite must-buy in my opinion. Otherwise, it's a little hit or miss if purely for Yun Kouga's habit of dropping us in the middle of a story.
One thing to note, from personal experience, is that while most of her works are shonen-ai (boys love), this is very slow paced. If you read it expecting something like Loveless, Junjou Romantica, or Gravitation, you'll be a little disappointed. It is, however, still worth reading.
The plot is, as per any Yun Kouga story, very vague. The gist of the story is about two angels who are plus and minus checkers, tallying up the Earthian's - human's - good and bad deeds. If a certain number of "minuses" is tallied, then the human race will be destroyed. The plot itself is interesting enough, but the two main characters really push the story along with their trials and very, very slowly developing relationship.
The artwork is gorgeous, if minimalistic. The attention Yun Kouga pays to her characters isn't always given to the scenery, which is really my only complaint about her style. Obviously, expect pretty boys.
All in all, definitely a great novel for Yun Kouga fans and those who like a bit of bittersweet drama to their stories. As long as you're fine walking into a plot half started, you'll enjoy it.
Just remember, fangirls - Yun Kouga's a tease.
