Ross and Krueger's opus to an Earth that has really changed as Hydra spreads like a zombie-like curse, heroes are absorbed and/or beaten like nothing else in a normal comic book universe. You'll either need to be a Marvel expert with decades of savvy or be willing to back up at times to get the history behind some of the storylines. For an old fanboy like me, this is stark, dark and truly inspired apocalyptic stuff. The reimaged Captain America stands out for the most memorable tough change of all.
I'll admit that I have an original page of this art, btw, and the EARTH X busts that Ross did when this was running as a series.
