Part of a lengthy series of illustrated picture atlases presenting the reproduction of prints rendered by European masters. Once based primarily on the compilations created by Austrian scholar and artist Johann Adam Bernhard Ritter von Bartsch (1757-1821) in his 21-volume "Le Peintre Graveur." This volume addresses the work of about twenty Italian engraving masters, including Antonio Pollaiuolo, Andrea Mantegna, Zoan Andrea, Benedetto Montagna, Giolio Campagnola, and Cristofano Robetta. It also includes additions to the Baccio Baldini catalogue contained in the previous volume. Uncommon.
