Very Good in Very Good jacket. Quarto. Two volume set, describing the National Portrait Gallery`s collection. Ex-library, but each volume has stamps on title-page only. Each volume has sellotape marks on both pastedowns where dustwrapper has been attached. Volume One is a catalogue of the collection and has 391 pages of text, including indexes and coloured plates. Volume Two consists of 953 black and white plates. Red cloth with gilt lettering on spine and gilt emblem on front cover. Top edge also gilt. Dustwrappers now in protective covers. Surface tears on front and spine of dustwrapper of volume one.
