amazing characters, great story
When a farm family loses the family land, the grief pours out in unexpected ways. Wright captures each beautifully - the husband who falls into deep depression, the wife who betrays her husband, the son who disappears into the world of Goth, the daughter who is enamored by an older man and religious fervor, the family matriarch who feeds everyone in town and offers a bit of humor. Through it all, faith, hope and a love of the land shine through. You will weep, and laugh, with them as their story unfolds, family secrets are revealed and healing begins.
My book group had one its best discussions with this book. If you lived through loss of a farm don't miss this sympathic portrayal.
