Dryadia is an extraordinarily beautiful country that lies at the western edge of Britain and at the edge of our consciousness. Its landscape and remarkable traditions have changed little in thousands of years. The Dryadians, although often threatened, have never been conquered. Since its foundation they have kept themselves apart from the rest of the world. They consider themselves guardians of the Ancient Wisdom and are guided by what they call The Great Tradition, a non-institutional system of behaviour, spiritual awareness and knowledge, accessible through our hearts. They live simply but creatively in a seemingly old-fashioned way but then they discover a science that is sustainable and gentle, which lifts them towards the stars. As the 21st century progresses, the rest of the world starts to implode; the result of over-industrialisation, over-population, diminishing resources, genetic interference in the building blocks of life, and a lack of love for the creation. During these terrible times Dryadia holds onto its soul and realises that it can no longer remain a land apart. It has to embrace its inevitable destiny.
