The first and foremost reason for me writing this book is because I want to bring awareness that there are people with drug, alcohol and mental illness problems "flying under the radar" and driving for rideshare companies. Alcohol dependency has been around for centuries and has affected many more people than the opioid epidemic ever will. According to a recent study, one in eight American adults, or 12.7% of the U.S. population is an alcoholic, while one in twenty American adults or 5% of the U.S. population is addicted to opioids.
