Four loosely laid in prints, with a laid in list of plates. 36 continuous tone prints, including the Tormented Shades, Tell Him His Name, Dante Forces the Traitor and more. Comes in a tattered but original box. The book is clean and in near fine condition. One of two thousand copies. This book was designed by famed sculptor and graphic artist Leonard Baskin, who presents an introduction to the drawings. The translation of the canto verses from Italian are by John Ciardi, who also contributes an introduction.
