Seller's Description:
Good. Book This advance reading copy bears some handling wear with a few dog ears, some light creasing to its spine and a bit of edge wear, but it's otherwise in great shape! You'll cartwheel with joy when this book gets to you! ! ! Note-Trade paperback, advance reader copy.
This book was recommended by a dear friend. Her father before her was a therapist; she was in therapy a bit herself, for family issues, and spent some time as a clinical analyst/therapist. She thought I'd like it---and I did. I'm a psychologist myself; I was licensed for clinical work for five years, but moved off into other, more hands-on areas of psychology and neuroscience.
The book is long; the type small. Everyone says that, so be ready. This book might be a poor fit for someone not at all "into" extended excursions into the inner-self of a therapist or his client (and associated social circles), someone not strong enough or interested enough in what might drive people to do harm or good to others.
For the rest of us---for periods of time, not always---this is a terrific read, gripping, anger-provoking, sickening even, but full of psycho-analytical insights and how they might be derived. This book has the potential to help you reconsider any number of subtle, even some not-so-subtle, aspects of your reactions to people and theirs to you. Yes; if it's not too late, it could change your life.
"Dr Neruda" is a 4 out of 5 book. For a perfect Yglesias book, please read "A Happy Marriage." Neruda would recommend that as well, as have several friends.
