The remainder of the set has seven of the dozen numbers recorded by Spanier in 1957 with his Dixieland band (which also includes clarinetist Joe Barufaldi and trombonist Bill Johnson). The latter sides are quite predictable as the sextet does its best to uplift such warhorses as "The Saints," "Muskrat Ramble" and "St. James Infirmary."
