This book is a delight to read. The pages are full of a woman's honest, heart-felt life experiences and is a true insight into the "all-american virgin's" not so wonderful life. Doris expresses herself in a very appropriate manor under the cirumstances of her life and the "all-american" images that adoring fans have created in their minds. But she doesn't give the expected "traditional housewife" story that an adoring fan would expect, which makes this story all the better. If you are a true fan and can depict the difference between the "all-american virgin" image, and you can accept Doris's life for what it truely was from her eyes and others around her, then you will truely be happy with this book. ***If you cannot accept the idea that Doris Kappelhoff, (Doris Day) is not so much the bright and sunny all american girl, then this is not for you!***
