Seller's Description:
Good. Good condition. A copy that has been read but remains intact. May contain markings such as bookplates, stamps, limited notes and highlighting, or a few light stains.
This is by far the poorest book I have read on the color complex in our community, and it's a first person account too! I have read many articles, several books, and have discussed this issue countless times. But when I began this book, I almost felt a whiny tone. I don't think she went extremely deep into the issue and there were certain areas of the book that were "just plain creepy". One was a moment where she was twelve and standing naked before her parents. I know this may seem relevant to her, but I find it distracting. There are much better books on colorism such as "The Color Complex" and "Black Beauty". As the reader, choose the other books.
