"Dog" is a masterfully written picture book that takes place in Ireland where a old man is the care taker of a grave yard and a stray dog wanders into his life, however unwanted the dog is at first and is eventually kicked outside, a storm starts to brew and the old man feeling guilty goes out into the storm in search of the "dog". they eventually are reunited in a storm cellar and the old man grows attached to the "Dog" and decides to take the dog home to be his, but he will not give him a name, he will only be called "dog", because after all as the old man says, "You will know when I want you". Mr. Blake has written a book that children and parents will like. It is a sweet book about how we all need somebody and that we might find them in the most unlikely places. Thank you Mr. Blake for a book that it is a part of my beloved personal collection!
