On my Desert-Island Shuffle
Djam Leeli is brings together long-time collaborators Baaba Maal and Mansour Seck for a gorgeous, lush, dreamy meeting of souls and guitars. I prefer this pensive, griot-influenced face of Baaba Maal and find these songs to be more shining examples of Mansour Seck's artistry. If you're a fan of Senegalese music this should find a home in your collection. This is the one that started it all for me and it still sounds amazing almost 20 years later.
