This was a modern romance that was fun to read. It also had surprising depth. It examined issues like how much withholding of the truth is a lie? It was funny and had characters that were not one-dimensional people who lived in a bubble. They dealt with real teenage angst, difficult employers, artsy types and public humilation. Joy Ballard is the host of a cooking show; a job she inherited from her late father. The problem is, she can't cook. At all. As time passes and her show becomes more and more popular, she struggles with her secret. She knows that either way, other people will be affected.
A new co-host is hired, chef Luke Redmond, and he begins to fall for Joy, and discover her secret. When it all comes crashing down, Joy and Luke must decide what really matters. Now I must go back and read the stories of some of the other characters mentioned in the book.
