English summary: Mandy Richter's study is concerned with the afterlife of the "crouching Venus," an ancient genre of statue which has survived in more than thirty full-sized copies and versions. Re-introduced around 1500 by Pier Jacopo Alari Bonacolsi (called "L'Antico"), the reception of the "crouching Venus" could be found in numerous artistic imitations that ranged from exact copies to artistic variations created up to 1570. On the basis of a representative sampling of case-studies, which always analyzes various thematic elements in context with ancient sculptural genres and incorporates as many artistic forms as possible, the fundamental points of the Venus' reception are traced through history and rooted in the context of each period. The goal of this work is the systematization of the various points of engagement with the "crouching Venus" genre through the aid of the concept "sacred love and profane love" (amor sacro e amor profano), within which the individual works are viewed from various stages of transmission. As a result, this project makes possible a better understanding of the interplay between ancient sculptures and artistic works from the first half of the 16th century and, by examining diverse perspectives, offers new interpretive possibilities about the reception of ancient art in the Renaissance.
