English summary: The pictures of the Canzoniere Palatino, the only one of the three large song collections of early Italian poetry with miniatures, have so far mainly been interpreted as illustrations of their respective texts. However, a careful iconographic and iconological analysis reveals that almost three quarters of the scenes have no concise textual reference, but rather refer to the performance of the courtly recital through figures they depict and their positioning and gestures: entrance or exit, theatrical form, and the general skill of conversatio or piacevolezza. The majority is concerned with exemplary behavior during the recital. This may suggests an influence by Francesco da Barberino, who specialized in lessons on behavior. The Canzoniere Palatino would thus be a kind of pictorial "speculum curialitatis."
