One of my favorites from the 1970's and although I remembered the gist of the story, and never forgot it over the years, reading it again was fresh and new. I enjoyed being lost in the 1930's of rural England's West Country with Jan and Diana and the appealing, loveable Delderfield characters. I've already recommended it a friend who is new to the author.
