Near Fine. No Jacket. 8vo-over 7¾"-9¾" tall. In German. Green cloth quarter-bound in brown leather. The boards and spine of each volume are elaborately decorated and gilded. All edges stained red. With green placemark ribbons. The two volumes have 460 and 573 numbered pages, respectively, including indexes. Both volumes are lavishly illustrated, including many fold-outs (one has a small taped repair). The spine ends and joints have moderate wear. Previous owner's bookplates are on the front pastedowns. Otherwise fine, very handsome copies.
