Although heartbreaking, it was a superb account of the cruel practices inflicted on young girls. Many of us have heard about such things but Betty Webb really spells it out. It's a good thing, too. More people need to be aware of just how much of it still goes on. The author is a fabulous investigative journalist and is right up there with her research.
