Seller's Description:
Fine. 8vo-over 7æ"-9æ" tall. Hardcover bound in royal octavo dark blue sewn cloth binding lettered with title on spine in gold. 265pp., Customized dust-jacket produced by former owner [? ] shows portions of front, rear and spine covering of this novel mounted on backing and protected by reinforced mylar cover. Dust-jacket artwork is taken from unknown edition. As best we can surmise this may be an early print on demand copy. Former owner's bookplate has been printed on last page, strongly suggesting this is a privately printed copy. A very clean, square, unmarked copy. Only flaw is that mylar covers have been pasted to inside covers, else as new. Fine in an interesting and not unattractive wrapper. Surely a unique copy. Scans sent on request.

The action in Decoy follows after Lt. Ned Yorke recovers from his adventures in the book Convoy. It is the story of Lt. Yorke?s participation in a plan to recover a modified Enigma machine from an active German submarine without the Nazi naval command learning about it during the Battle of the Atlantic. With the help of Jemmy and the Croupier, Ned concocts an audacious plan to lure a German submarine into picking up ?stranded? merchant mariners. How Ned gets the Enigma machine and foils the Germans makes a rousing good read.
