Promising
I read Dead White Female, the first of the Sam Jones series, last, as it was difficult to find in the U.S. at a reasonable price. It proved to be great at filling in the backstory of how Sam approaches life, her friends, and her art, in the later books--which are great fun to read. The writing felt less tight than later books but even that felt right in a story introducing a character and her lifestyle. It was worth the wait.
