The work begins with the Japanese capitulation and the end of World War II in August 1945. It deals with the British occupation of the Dutch East Indies in accordance with the agreement with the Dutch government to establish the Japanese camps, in which the ML played an important role. It describes the turbulent period of the development of Indonesian independence. It also describes how the build-up of the ML took place and which difficulties occurred. The course of the two police actions in which the ML played an important role has also been extensively discussed.
