This a fantastic book written about the wife of Gandhi by her grandson and his wife. This book shows that Kasturba was not the mindless follower most of Gandhi's biographers portray her to be but rather as woman with her own thoughts and views. She only followed her husband's radical living arrangements and plans to change how people were treated by other people when she became convinced he was right. She would not comply if she thought he was wrong, as is illustrated in several family anecdotes. This a great volume for those who want to know more about the "woman behind the man" without whom he could not have risen to such great heights in his fight for human rights.
