Presupposing that the unity of Schleiermacher's philosophical and theological way of thinking is not indisputable, the author presents a two-stage concept of education on the basis of the theologian's writings which accepts the challenges of a modern theory of society, including pluralism and its non-religious, as well as different-religious potentials.
