Although it took me about 3-4 chapters to really get into this book, I am glad that I stuck with it. After all, Nancy Pearl recommends never giving up unless you have read at least 50 pages. Anyway, I thought this was a well written fantasy that depicted a magical world being exploited by an egocentric man from our normal world. Is she poking fun at our government? Who knows...but the theme and plot really get you thinking. Overall this is a great fantasy.
