The fifth book in the Dark series is about Julian Savage, yet another dominate male Carpathian. Christine Feehan does a remarkable job with the Carpathians struggles to live in a world that doesn't know they exist. The Carpathian hunters hunt and kill the Vampires, saving both humans and Carpathians alike from their demented desires. Yet there is a society that would kill or torture a Carpathian, without even trying to see the differences. So these noble species are struggling to live in a world where they have to hide their existance.
