Great Story...
The use of the phrase "Danger Close", in U.S. military jargon, indicates to artillery and/or naval gunfire support that friendly forces are within 600 meters of the target. This is in fact an analogy that comes to life repeatedly in the pages of Michael Yon?s autobiography. Mr. Yon has had some very close calls in his time on the planet and some of them have been at the hands of people or institutions like his family, friends, school or the military; all of whom you might consider ?friendly forces?. I was compelled to read this book after coming across Mr. Yon?s blog on the internet. His writing compares to another favorite author of mine, Jim Corbett, whose life was also filled with a similar air of adventure and danger. I would encourage anyone interested in knowing who Mr. Yon is and how he developed his unique outlook on current affairs, especially the war in Iraq, to make this book a reading priority.
