There were 5,000 people in attendance at 2003's award show in Miami, 800 million watched it on television worldwide, and Dancestar's licensing department seems all the stronger as a result. These are all big hits from the mainstream side of dance and there's no cheating, but they are unmixed and almost all presented in their shorter "radio edits." If that doesn't matter to you, dig in. Plenty of the tracks appropriate pop tunes and turn them into giant anthems. Angel City cop a bit of Ready for the World's "Oh Sheila," LMC use U2's "With or Without You" as a foundation, and Dannii Minogue takes the better part of Madonna's "Into the Groove." The influence of electro and electroclash is strong with Benny Benassi, Tocadisco, and Ferry Corsten all adding some much needed grit to the collection.
