This is the story about St. Nicholas announcing to the country angel children that they have been chosen to "make the Christmas celebration for all of Heaven this year." The angel children then try to decide what to do to make the celebration special. St. Nicholas tells them to just be themselves and that by doing so they will come up with a good idea for the celebration. There are 3 little angels who keep being told by the other angels to keep out of the way because they are too young...everywhere they try to help with getting ready for the celebration, they are not needed for some reason or another. Then, St. Nicholas whispers an idea of what they can do, and on the eve of the celebration, when everything is dark, the 3 smallest angels light up the sky by pulling the Star of Bethlehem and all the other angels are happy that they were doing something that would allow the celebration to be seen.
The illustrations in the book are quite beautiful for folk-art. It is a really adorable story.
