This will prove as little consolation to American listeners who feel that their classical radio station has turned into a "Vivaldi machine," but at least neither of the concertos here are common. Many listeners to public radio in the U.S. do not realize they are hearing the same few Vivaldi concertos repeated over and over, and in spite of the mid-century notion that Vivaldi wrote "the same concerto 700 times," greater familiarity with his overall work uncovers variety, rather than repetition.
